Portfolio

Image
All of my projects from the semester compiled and presented in a portfolio. This was done in InDesign. I'm really happy with how it turned out in the end, and super proud to have this to show off!

Animation

My final project of the semester: "Happy Place" Here's the gif of my 15 second animation done in Photoshop. I decided to capture a series of videos on the beach. Using iMovie, I cut and combined all of the clips and then used Photoshop to convert each frame into a layer so I could add different elements to the final animation. Autoscopy

Image
autoscopy project- seeing yourself in a different perspective My final piece was exported in many various ways. First, I exported it as a .jpg in 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0% quality. Then, I exported it as a .gif and explored various color palettes and amounts and dithering. Throughout my life I've always struggled with self image. For this project I decided to portray my mirror image as the devil. While I may have always thought I feared judgement from other people, I've really always been my own biggest critic and hater. I had so much fun taking the photo for this project and playing with the mirror and different body/face and camera angles.  image from clipartkey.com used

Multiplicity

Image
Incorporated 6 images of myself into one.  This project was challenging but so fun! I changed shirts for each version of myself to add some contrast to the final piece, but tried to keep it all within the same color palette. This project definitely forced me to get better at using masks in photoshop.

Black and White to Color

Image
My first project using photoshop! This definitely was not my strongest piece but I got to explore the challenges of creating masks with photoshop layers. For this project I chose 3 different color palettes, each with 5 colors. I love the contrasts in each of the palettes I chose.

Poster

Image
 - poster made using a palette of 5 colors (+b&w), incorporating a selfie, and a message in a 3-tier style Inspired by my love for the Joker, this project idea of having half of my face appear to be in clown makeup came to me randomly one night and I knew I had to make it awesome. This is without a doubt one of my favorite pieces I've ever created. The color palette was chosen to reflect bright, circus-like colors.

Calligram

Image
Calligram- self portrait made entirely out of words describing or relating to myself The calligram was inspired by the letter below. It was a long process, and while some of it is slightly creepy, I have to say I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Letter to myself 20 years in the future Hey Shannon from the future, I’m 20 years old sitting at my desk in Straz writing this to you. I’m curious about a lot, but let’s talk about the present for a minute first. I’m stressed, very stressed , but overall I’m doing pretty okay. This is the Covid semester of college, so things are definitely different than normal, but I really can’t complain. UT is still one of my favorite places in the world. Brooke was just born a month ago (she’s gonna be my age now as you’re reading this, WOAH). The rest of the family’s good, I just might’ve found the love of my life (I guess you can let me know if it worked out), and I miss Gi a lot. She better still be your best friend by the way. I’m currently
